About This Spot

Stepping into Blue Lobster Restaurant, nestled along the Berlin Turnpike, feels like uncovering a cherished local treasure. The atmosphere welcomes you with easy, unpretentious warmth – a space where the hum of conversation blends effortlessly with the scent of fresh seafood and buttery rolls coming from the kitchen. It’s the kind of place where the pace slows just enough to savor not only the food but also the company around your table.

This cozy spot carries a comforting neighborhood charm, offering a relaxed reprieve amid the day’s bustle. Whether you come in midday or evening, the rhythm is calm and inviting, as if you’ve entered a familiar catch-up spot where everyone knows a story or two about the sea. The staff’s friendly attentiveness feels genuine, making guests feel cared for rather than rushed, drawing smiles amid the clinks of glasses and sizzling sounds from the open fryers.

At Blue Lobster, the experience hinges on seafood prepared with heart and a confident nod to classic New England flavors. You’ll find yourself drawn to the warmth of a perfectly buttered lobster roll, the delicate crunch of a soft shell crab sandwich, or the hearty reassurance of clam chowder served just right. Portions arrive generous and honest, the kind that invite sharing or saving a bite for later. Alongside meal companions like crispy fries or a cool slaw, each dish reflects a balance of simplicity and attention to freshness that locals return for time and again.

The joy here isn’t just in the plate but in the unhurried human moments—the way servers greet you by name or how a manager stops by to check in, making the place feel more like a community hub than just a restaurant. This quintessentially approachable seafood joint feels like a small adventure each time, one where the flavors of the coast mingle seamlessly with the familiar warmth of a village gathering spot.

Stopped in for fish and chips after seeing a post on social media. So glad we did. Food was great. Service was spectacular. Extremely friendly manager who took really good care of us. Looking forward to the next visit to try the whole bellies.

Was visiting from out of town and craving a lobster roll, we found Blue Lobster. Their CT lobster roll absolutely hit the spot! The lobster meat was sweet and tender, piled high on a perfectly buttered and toasted roll. It came with crispy fries and a tangy coleslaw that were both delicious. My mom loved her creamy lobster bisque, which was packed with chunks of lobster, and her Maryland crab cake. The restaurant has a casual, beachy vibe and the service was friendly. I highly recommend Blue Lobster for anyone looking for delicious, fresh seafood in Berlin, CT.

First time eating at this mom and pop style restaurant and our dining experience was great, and the wait staff friendly and attentive. We had the clam strips, fish and chips and a bowl of lobster bisque. The portions were extremely generous - boarder line huge. Everything we got was delicious and definitely fresh. Glad we stopped by, we will definitely come back!

Nice little restaurant I found on Google Map. Was planning to go grab a lobster roll, but end up having something even better – the Soft Shell Crab sandwich. Best soft shell crab I have so far, perfectly fried, crunchy but not oily at all!

We were visiting just after Christmas and my husband raved about this place when he was in Berlin before, so we had to go. Seriously excellent lobster rolls. We got the CT roll with hot butter. So good.

We are from Texas and wanted some authentic New England Clam Chowder and when we googled this place we had to come. It was so good we came back the next day for dinner. Atmosphere was so welcoming, food was delicious and fast service. Five stars all around!!!
